Our Story
Back in the early 1960’s Stella Cordova (my grandmother) worked at a restaurant called Chubbys burger drive-in, a 50’s style hamburger and shake drive-in. One day the owner asked if she wanted to buy it and of course, she said she couldn’t afford it. He said “I’ll let you have it for a reasonable fee with $500 down and minimal monthly payment.” So she borrowed some money from her oldest daughter, my aunt, Esther and believe it or not, the contract was only half of a page and only three signatures, my grandmother’s, her son (my uncle), Demis and the rest is history. We are still using her original recipes and we will continue to do so. I, Julian Cordova had the pleasure of working side by side with my grandma in serving all of our amazing customers. I grew up working in the family business and I am thankful to carry on her traditions and values. Chubbys will continue to serve all of you, our wonderful and loyal customers!!!
